Cylindrical bags, 27” or 30” diameter, are secured to the mine roof and are subsequently filled with a foamed cement.
The installation of the TekCrib system is accomplished by using the Minova TekPlacer unit, specially designed to combine the TekCrib powder with air and water, producing a cementitious foam.
The foam is typically pumped a distance of 1,000 ft., although much longer distances are possible, especially when pumping down surface boreholes. The mix begins to gel within minutes of discharge and cures to a final strength, ranging from approximately 400-800 psi.
TekPak P is a patented pumpable crib material having substantial benefits in terms of roof control, speed and ease of installation. TekPak P has a high early strength allowing the crib to resist bed separation and convergence. The fully cured strength is substantial with over 150 tons of load bearing capacity.
TekSet® is a single-component, cementitious grout designed as a fill for a bag placed between the top of a crib and the mine roof, or atop a specially designed post system. Depending on the water temperature, the material will set in approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The tedious routine of blocking and wedging supplemental roof support is replaced by a simpler, faster and more efficient means.

After mixing, the resin quickly starts foaming-up within seconds forming a strong lightweight foam. Common uses include structural support in tunnelling and for the lifting of roadways or slabs.
TekFoam is a non-combustible, void-filling, structural cement foam. Supplied as a powder, the cement forms a low-density foam (0.25 to 0.35 sg) when combined with the proper amount of air and water in the specially designed Tekplacer unit.
TekFoam mix is typically pumped 400 feet (121.9m) through a 1” (25.4mm) diameter hose, farther through a larger diameter hose. The 20 psi (0.1379MPa) product begins to gel in minutes, forming a non-toxic, non-combustible product weighing approximately 540 lbs/ yd3 (320.4kg/ m3). Because of its rapid strength gain, the foam material is firm enough to walk on in 30 to 60 minutes.
